11th Frame (3-6-15)

We always love it when we get to play on our home turf in Madison, AL. We were also excited to be back at the 11th Frame. We had fun like usual, but I have to admit the week leading up to the show was not fun at all. We were all fighting with each other with the exception of Raymond. The ice and snow storm caused us to be on pins and needles. We had no idea if the show would be canceled or if our guitarist would even be able to make it down from Nashville. Our time slot got moved at the last minute, which caused us to make a bunch of phone calls the day of the show, not to mention we didn't get to practice that week either because of the weather. It was just stressful, and mentally we were just not ready to bring our A game.

But God laid on my heart early morning the day of our show to focus on his goodness. To focus on what he focus's on. So right before we took the stage and before we prayed, I just thanked each of the guys for their individual talents and what they bring to the table. I could instantly feel a shift in our attitudes as I pressed onward listing all of the accomplishments Estoria has been blessed with in 2015. We were refreshed, we were refocused, we prayed, and then we were ready to take the stage.

The show was a lot of fun, and I always love watching my band mates get crazy on stage. I remember seeing Jeff jump onto and off of the huge speakers in front of the stage. Raymond jumped into the crowd, and John ran off stage and jumped on top of one of the tables in the bar all while continuing to play.

I watched two new fans Justin and Corey have fun watching from the front and center of the floor during our entire set. I also watched a group of girls sing all of the lyrics to our songs. That was amazing to watch. To top it all off, the crowd went nuts to our surprise ending. It was a blast and a complete pleasure collaborating with our new friend Cai on our version of the song "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry.

The crowd went NUTS for this dude, not only is he entertaining but I am pretty sure he could rap about anything. He is a beast.

In reflection, I realized there were so many "first time" moments that night I experienced. Before the show started, a man came up to me and handed me an Estoria bracelet from his company Iconic Bracelets. He was super nice, and we gave him a signed poster in return. I enjoyed wearing the bracelet on stage that night, so yeah, that was pretty cool.

During our set, (like I mentioned earlier) I saw people singing our songs back to us and it was an amazing feeling. After the show, I talked briefly with the lead singer of Shallow Side and he said I sounded like Ellie Goulding, and a new fan said that she had our Estoria CD playing in her car on repeat along with Whitney Houston's greatest hits.

Again.... pretty cool compliments. I also had one woman tell me that she usually doesn't like female fronted rock bands, but that she really liked me, and our music, so that was exciting.

At the end of the day, it was a good show, and we had a great time. Getting to meet new fans is one of my favorite things about being a musician, and this show allowed me to do just that. Thank you to everyone who came out, and thank you to all of the new fans. I love each of you!

P.S - HUGE SHOUT OUT to TONYA WATWOOD of Twizted T Rocktography for the awesome photos!!! You guys go check her out on facebook.
