2013
Welcome to the Estoria blog. As we move forward we want to keep you in the loop. We want our fans to have an insider view of what really goes on in the lives of independent artists. If you are an inspiring artist, I hope it encourages you and gives you a realistic view of how hard you have to work. If you are a fan, I hope it inspires you and reveals the hearts of all of us at Estoria. I hope it will reveal how much we care about you and appreciate you. With all of that being said, I want this first post to be about 2013. Lets get started shall we?
What a year. 2013,a year of so many accomplishments. It was filled with trials and blessings. We learned, laughed, cried, and shouted for joy together. We experienced excitement on a whole new level and I can't wait to share it with you all.
January- We had a fun photoshoot in the cold, and laughed pretty much through-out the entire process. We learned just how photogenic Brandon is, and how far great lighting can take you. We also recorded "Learning to Breathe".
February- We traveled to Nashville and recorded my vocals to "In your arms." and finished recording our EP. We also reached 400 likes on Facebook thanks to all of you.
March- We released our EP, "Learning to Breathe", and reached #2 on our local Reverbnation charts. We also had a blast playing to a full house at the Foyer in Hunstville.
April- We competed in the UAH Battle of the Bands, and our single, "Learning to Breathe" aired on 106.1 Hunstville. Learning to Breathe also made its was to earbits.com, an online streaming radio station.
May- We were invited to play at the famous Whistlestop Festival. Had our EP included in the rotation at 88.1 revocation radio in Birmingham. Had two awesome shows at the Basement in Fayetville, Tn, and performed at a lockin in Madison.
June- Estoria hits the UK on rockindocradio.net and reaches 700 likes on Facebook. We also welcomed little Ava Eliana Sandridge to the Estoria family.
July- We spent the month writing new material, and Meagan traveled to Guatemala to build homes for familes in need.
August- We contiuned to write and perfect new material for the upcoming EP.
September- We competed and won $1,000.00 at the Madison Mission Battle of the Bands Competition. This honestly was one of the most fun and gratifying events we have ever experienced.
October- We recorded our new single, "Remind Me", we performed at the Brook, and continued to write new music.http://youtu.be/n9LYmOznjcw
November- We traveled to Knoxville, Tn and recorded with Grammy-nominated Producer Travis Wyrick for 2 weeks. It was one of the most grueling, exhausting, and fun experience we have had together.
December- We launched our new, official logo. We took some time to audition new drummers, and collectively reconstructed and intentionally planned out how we will move forward as a band.
We have come such a long way, and we can't wait to see what 2014 holds. Stay tuned for the next update, and until then know that we love and adore you all. - Meagan
